Early Foundations: Learning from Lived Experience
The roots of Vidya Lead Academy lie in community-based initiatives that worked closely with people affected by addiction, HIV/AIDS, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), as well as families impacted by crime and social vulnerability. Rather than viewing individuals only as beneficiaries, these initiatives recognized them as resource persons and leaders capable of guiding others through similar challenges.
A Model of Social Entrepreneurship
Developed a peer-led social entrepreneurship model for drug rehabilitation across northern India, standardizing ethical care through shared learning and capacity building. Created a scalable, community-driven approach where lived experience drives recovery, leadership, and social impact.
Impact and Reach
Academy strengthens community-driven health systems across Asia through capacity building, ethical frameworks, and peer-led leadership.
Rooted in lived experience, it advances well-being, education, and equity through partnerships and action.
